What is Fascia (fash-ă)?

In the simplest terms, Fascia is connective tissue that overlies, wraps around and passes between each of our organs, bones, muscles, and nerves from the tops of our heads to the bottoms of our feet. Fascia can become restricted & bind down muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and organs limiting movement, restricting breathing, causing pain, or impairing movement patterns.

How does FST differ from standard stretching?

  • Practitioners of FST™ assess the individual needs of the client initially and constantly throughout the FST™ session, re-evaluating the restrictions of the client, and adapting the session accordingly.
  • An FST™ session is unique in that it uses a variety of positions to address the fascia globally before focusing in on joint capsules to help release compressed tissue and muscles.
  • FST™ synchronizes breathing with movement to achieve deeper muscle relaxation.
  • The practitioner uses traction to decompress and elongate tissues and joints.

What is Fascial Stretch Therapy? — not to be mistaken with “getting a facial”!

  • FST™ is a neuromyofascial hands on technique that involves gentle stretching of fascia, muscle, & nerves in a multi-dimensional manner using traction.
  • FST™ is pain-free table based stretching technique delivered while the client remains fully clothed.
  • FST™ uses the Stretch Wave™ principles that syncs your breath with movement creating a Wave like effect & undulations that vary from micro-macro movements.
  • FST™ practitioners provide a safe and nurturing environment for clients which down-regulates the nervous system facilitating a deep relaxation of the system & fascial tissues.
  • FST™ is regenerative and restorative.
